Marvel Legends Stilt-Man Wave Hand Ninja review

We're now at the last stretch of Marvel Legends to go over, and this one is a rather peculiar choice to cover; while Frog Man might be one of the more interesting choices for a Marvel Legends option, as the Hand Ninja is not a specific character but rather part of an army of ninjas with mystical powers in an evil organization named The Hand, founded back in 1588. They were eventually joined alongside the Snakeroot ninja clan. The average comic follower would think of the Hand's relationship with Daredevil on par with the League of Assassin's relationship with Batman, and even further average comic followers would think he's just a random ninja toy that has nothing to do with Marvel if they only see the MCU...even if they showed up in the Netflix Marvel shows. So with that backstory out of the way, let's take a look at the Hand Ninja!

Here is the Hand Ninja in-hand, depicted in a red outfit that gives him the robes, belt, and hood that makes him a ninja. While ninjas, in general, are meant to be stealthy and lack any other colors to them (not that any other fiction depicting ninjas would not stick with a single color), but the fact that the red is a darker shade than normal does give the figure a little more credibility for being threatening in terms of appearance. Some parts of the figure are a darker red, like the gauntlets, the boots, and the mask. The strap for the sword is more like a belt that someone bashed into a strap for their sword's sheath, and it's very loose without there being any glue or sizing to keep it on there properly; the belt is nicely sized and doesn't stick out weirdly. The shoes are cameltoes, which are usually like that when they're ninjas we're talking about.

Head sculpt is nicely done, with the hood sculpted well while the head is given proper attention to detail with the eyebrows, green eyes, and the texturing of the mask underneath the hood. The thing I like most about it is that there is a nose underneath the mask to show it's got a living, breathing human underneath it rather than having a bulbous look to it. The articulation is the same as the majority of Marvel Legends covered before, though of note is the amount of articulation present is the same from the Lightning Collection line of Power Rangers figures, including the diaphragm joint combined with the ab crunch as well as the butterfly joints. You can give him a sword and display him with one of two splayed-open hands or use both weapon-holding hands to have him dual-wield the sword.

Another display option for him is to use the sickles that are just as nice painted as the katana. As for the BAF pieces, you have two stilt-legs for Stilt-Man as well as a clear stand for them given how weird they work as legs. So generally speaking, there is not much else to say about the Hand Ninja beyond the appeal of owning a niche but still neat army-builder. Sadly, it appears that there are very few Hand Ninjas per case, and with how fast Marvel Legends waves pass by, getting this guy will be even harder if you want more than one. Either way, he's a good addition to own despite most average Marvel fans dismissing him as a mere ninja guy without much experience from any lore related to The Hand.
