DC Multiverse Justice League Wonder Woman review

Wonder Woman went from being a badass warrior in BvS to becoming one of the reasons why people disliked Josstice (that being how she was treated by Joss Whedon). She would have been a badass in the Snyder Cut had Warner Bros. not let the reshooters get in the way. She's next to appear in WW84, which I feel will be inferior to the first movie due to its lack of ambition and everlasting appeal that won't be present from those that aren't hardcore DCEU fans that would eat up any movie no matter what (unless it's Josstice of Gunn's Suicide Squad because "Fuck Marbel". So the movie side of things has been pretty lacking for the first female superhero, but what about the previous action figures. Is the JL Wonder Woman an improvement over the BvS one?

Here is Wonder Woman, and I have to say for my impressions on the figure just from these images, it does look better than her BvS version. In terms of the sculpt, the suit looks pretty good, and while the flesh parts are better than I expected, they still aren't perfect, as they keep the forever hard-to-perfect balance between articulation and sculpt. The legs do look decent, but a part of me feels that the knee pads look a bit off-centered.

You can store WW's weapons, though there is still no accurate storage for the back. Understandably, her hair is in the way, but an attempt would have been neat. Also, she lacks her shield, which was included only with the BvS version to my understanding.

The head sculpt looks a lot better here than it did for the previous version. The likeness to Gal Gadot isn't perfect, but it's close to resembling her. Mattel still doesn't have Hasbro's ability to capture the actor likeness (even if it's not perfect, it's still a lot more approachable than what Mattel has done).

The articulation is about the same as you'd expect from the previous version. The head can move a bit better thanks to the less stiff hair, the shoulders move fairly well, but the rest of her arm articulation is still as weird. She has a bicep swivel yet the forearms rotate and the wrists do as well. As I stated in the previous Wonder Woman review, pick one or the other, please. The waist swivels, the hips can move front and back as well as in and out (though not as successfully thanks to the limited movement from the skirt), the thighs swivel, the knees bend, and the ankles hinge but don't pivot. It would still be helpful if they did since this toy has a hard time standing up.

She has one BAF piece of Steppenwolf, and it's his right arm. I kind of wish the head was included because it'd allude to the Snyder Cut showing her decapitating Steppenwolf.

Here she is next to the JL Superman and the BvS Batman. I think the size works better here compared to the original release. Plus, this is a decent way to display your DCEU Trinity if you can't afford the Hot Toys or Japanese figures. That or if you missed out on the Heroes of Justice set from Lego.

Here she is next to the BvS version. It's a slightly smaller sculpt, the face sculpt is better than the BvS version, and the only thing I wish this figure had was a shield that wouldn't weigh her arm down or be a pain in the ass to put on. While her colors do look bright compared to the BvS version, they're at least more metallic and not a bright red and blue like what a certain company once did last year.

Overall, this figure is slightly better than the 2016 version. It's not going to automatically win people over if they haven't been massive fans of the line, but at least it's got some improvements. I got her for $10 a year after the figure hit retail, and that's as good of a deal as you're going to get. But judging it for its intended price tag of $19.99 plus tax, this is only slightly worth the money compared to the BvS version. I can only recommend it if you want a WW figure on clearance.
