Figuart Mini Sailor Moon Inner Senshi 5-in-1 review

More chibis, same 5 characters once again. These figures are actually reissues given how fans previously obtained the 2023 releases of Serenity, Endymion, Eternal Moon, and the Starlight trio. Since Bamco and Tamashii aren't likely going to do more characters or variants, it makes sense to go back and give others versions of the first run of Sailor Scouts. Or Senshi. Or Guardians. Or Soldiers. Anyways, we have Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus together once more, now in chibi scale!

Here we have Sailor Moon in-hand, and as with all other Figuart Minis, the proportions are typical for the line. Big heads, tiny bodies, the feet are pointing inwards slightly, and the hands (for the females at least) are splayed out. The sculpted details match the character design in the series, with the eyes making me think of that one time a mascot costume was around in R for the end of the Doom Tree Arc. The boots have the crescents painted on, similarly for the brooch's details as well, but at least the odangos are sculpted, and there is a bit of etched detailing for the hair, tiara, the elbow covers, and the skirt. Articulation is the same for all of them, with ball joints at the neck, twintails, hips with swivels for the swappable shoulders. Her alternate right arm has her doing the peace sign and the left arm is posed on her hips,

Up next, it's Sailor Mercury. Her mouth is closed unlike that of Moon's, though it fits her somewhat quiet nature. It is painted on rather than sculpted, but her more asymmetrical hair bangs do show a bit of her eyebrows. I also appreciate that they made sure to sculpt all the unique details for her outfit, like the earrings and giving her a plain bow. Her alternate arms help her recreate her pose after she transforms.

And then we have Mars though the eye shape is mostly the same between all Figuart Minis, they did at least retain the unique shaping that is associated with Rei Hino. Her mouth is also a closed smile like with Ami. I also appreciate that her footwear is accurate to the series, giving her smaller shoes. She only comes with one alternate arm for the left side, made to help recreate her transformation pose.

Who could forget about Sailor Jupiter? In addition to having the unique sculptwork for her footwear, she also has an articulated ponytail with the beads painted on. Her mouth is an open smile like with Usagi, and her alternate arms have her recreating her transformation pose, though one of the legs should be bent to make it more convincing.

And finally, here we have Sailor Venus. We get the signature hair bow Minako is almost always wearing, and her face is the same open mouth expression like with Usagi and Makoto. Her footwear also matches the series, right down to the bands around the ankles. Her hair isn't articulated like the regular Figuarts, but that is to be expected with how chunky and thick the hair pieces are. Her pair of alternate arms also recreate the transformation pose, though the right arm is barely different from its stock counterpart.

Overall, these figures are neat to own if you want some poseable desk toys with optional arms. While it is odd that some swappable arms aren't too different from the stock ones (or Mars coming with only one), they are at least painted and detailed in a premium manner as one would hope for chibi imports. I didn't show this but the hair pieces and faces can be swapped; there wasn't much of a need to do so given how the tolerances between the paint and the tabs for the hair pieces may vary.

Final ranking: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
