Here we have Wonder Woman in-hand, and the figure itself is retooled from the prior two versions of the character. We first had the character back in 2020 as one of the earlier waves for the McFarlane line, and the differences between that and this figure will be interesting to look into. As far as the figure currently looks, I always liked that the figure has the textures and sculpted details, which made sense for a modernized take on the character. Early DCEU costumes knew how to not go into the same direction the MCUfication of costumes went into, adding lines everywhere. The metallic red is a treat, though it could go for a far less pristine deco to match her appearances in Batman v Superman and Zack Snyder's Justice League. The thighs have some proper musculature this time around, a huge contrast to the tree stumps she previously had, though those originated from the 2023 version. The upper body's joint break does look ugly, and it's annoying how that wasn't fixed. The skinny arms have me split since they do distract from how they clash with the new thighs, though Gal Gadot had a skinnier build than Wonder Woman is normally depicted. We'll get into differences later.
Her head sculpt is a retool of a retool, now having the Fury of the Gods head but with the tiara added on the forehead, given that the 2023 version had it as a separate accessory for her to use as a boomerang. She did that in Wonder Woman 1984, which is ironic since that figure didn't have that. Personally, I'm fine with it staying in her head since it's properly scaled and at least wasn't used as a weapon in the movie. The articulation is the same as the original figure, though the head still has slightly better yet still limited movement. Also, is it me or does she have a pinker tint to her skin tone than the rest of her? It's almost like she's starting to suffer from a severe heatwave. The sword and shield are both great to have, though the sword handle may require stretching the circumference of the hand while the shield handles are too big to accommodate the skinnier arms she has, an issue that never plagued figures like the Todd-designed version or the classic version.
For a comparison with the original 1984 version, differences include a new head sculpt with a better actor likeness and scale. The reds are slightly darker, as are the blues. The thighs are more proportionate and have musculature to appear organic by comparison. That being said, the removed paint apps on the lower legs is questionable given they were supposed to show some skin as well as have the straps for said boots visible. We also have some gold removed in the back but I guess Todd thought that nobody would notice since they don't display their figures from the back and her hair somewhat covering it. Some modifications would be needed for better completion but be sure to have some paint handy.
Regarding the FOTG version and a comparison to the suit as it was shown in the Snyder-directed movies, you can better look at how the tiara was not sculpted into her head, and she still came with the same Lasso of Truth that the 1984 version used as a display option. Would have been great to see her come with it since she used it against Doomsday, but oh well. What I wish she had, however, was some weathering and add-ons to the costume to better match the movie. Sure, the metallic colors are nice as well as have a happy medium, but for a company that likes to add extremities and weathering on their figures, it's bizarre how the treatment is not there for Wonder Woman.
